Immigrant activists shout McAleenan off stage

The chants of pro-immigrant activists disrupted acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan's address at a conference hosted by the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, DC.

McAleenan eventually left the stage.

Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

Chants like, "when immigrants are under attack, stand up fight back" interrupted McAleenan numerous times on Monday (October 7) during his address at Georgetown Law.

After a few attempts to continue speaking over the protesters' voices, McAleenan walked off the stage.

U.S. President Donald Trump has made cutting legal and illegal immigration a centerpiece of his presidency.

McAleenan and the Department of Homeland Security have come under fire from critics who disapprove of the administration's immigration crackdown.
