Flights Bound For NYC Have Been Suspended

Mark Lennihan/AP All flights bound for New York-area airports have been halted due to a staffing shortage because of employees testing positive for coronavirus.

Flights bound for major airports — including Newark Liberty International Airport, Laguardia Airport, John F.

Kennedy International Airport — have been stopped effective immediately, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

All flights have also been halted going into Philadelphia International Airport, as well as smaller airports in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The FAA said the full-stop on arriving flights is due to "staffing issues."
