Safe haven baby boxes are used as a resource for women who feel they can't take care of a child.

It allows them to anonymously give the child to authorities.

Mandy shepherd brought the idea to city leaders to bring one of these resources to clay county.

Her idea paid off.

Brazil city leaders voted to approve a baby box.

It will be located at the brazil city fire department.

Shepard says she's grateful to have this resource available for those that may need it.

/////// /////// "i'll be honest, i really get excited about the whole thing, because i think it's one of those things that other people see the need as well, and they want it.

I mean, that makes me really happy."
