One wabash valley church is stepping up to make sure vigo county students have the food they need.

Earlier today news 10 caught up with members of "the bridge church" in terre haute.

Members handed out food to students with the vigo county school corporation.

News 10 spoke with a youth pastor.

He says the church is located near deming elementary school in terre haute.

It's one of the many reasons the church wanted to help out.

"just being able to provide a simple meal.

All it is is a sandwhich and a couple snacks an apple and some milk but it means more to those kids than it does to most people."

Church members say they hand out around 3-hundred meals a day
