This morning another grim milestone in the coronavirus pandemic... over 25 thousand deaths across the country... and over 600 thousand infected..

Nearly 50,000 patients have recovered..

Over 3 million people in the u-s have been tested for the virus... the epicenter continues to be new york city..

With nearly a third of the nations confirmed cases..

The stay at home order forced many shops to close because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Leaving many of them unattended.

One business owner in redding says their building set up security cameras around the area to help keep an eye on things.

And with more stores and shops closed: the owner also said they are seeing more police patrolling the area.

The vice mayor a paradise... in hot water... after investigators say he sent inappropriate texts and pictures to what he thought was an underage girl... investigators say a man told them he posed as a 16-year-old girl and targeted paradise vice mayor mike zuccalillo... detectives, the fbi and the d-a's office then took over the investigation --- they say zuccalillo kept sending lewd pictures and texts.

Chico state president gayle hutchinson announced a virtual commencement.

The virtual commencement for the class of 2020 will be held may 15th the ceremony will include speeches, celebrations, and the reading of graduates' namesrads will be able to customize a slide with a photo and message to go along their name reading.

Redding fire department chief cullen kreider says: they are down 28- percent of its call volume for fires and traffic accidents.

But kreider says: now they are seeing more calls come in for flu or coronavirus like symptoms. a message tuesday from redding mayor adam mc-elvain: quote: "we will continue to push forward together."

The mayor says the city is taking steps to make things easier on residents.

The city waived or suspended fees, including late fees for city payments or fees for impounded pets.

The city also temporarily stopped utility shutoffs.
