Virus.... 3 i's common to feel stressed or anxious during a crisis... especially for those with a mental illness.
And nami, or the national alliance on mental illness shares ways to cope through this coronavirus pandemic.
"there are a lot of things we ca't do, but there are a lot of things we can do..."
Karen dubois, nami acadian's program educator says one of the biggest struggles for people is the influx of information through the coronavirus pandemic."someone with a mental health diagnosis... it just ramps up that anxiety.
Ther's a lot of confusion for people as regards to what is necessary: should i wear a mask all the time, should i be wearing gloves all the time?"
While there are resources provided online through nam's website.... "nami.org.
Ther's a vast amount of resources on there.... in fact, ther's is a resource guide that they can either download or they can read it."
..karen still recommends following the handwashing procedure to keep your mind and loved ones at ease.... "i see a lot of people out there who are't wearing mask or gloves and all i can say is that i hope the're washing their hands.
And i think that these things that we can do, do help a person feel more confident that they have not been exposed."
