With covi?19 possibly impacting the tourist season, the city council is acting quickly to help them out.

Keeping the economy running was the name of the game in tonight's city council meeting.

The council unanimously approving several resolutions designed to help small businesses.

Ten thousand dollars will go to the clear lake area chamber of commerce for an advertising campaign.

One hundred thousand dollars is being earmarked for the north iowa corridor economic development corporation's grant program.

Another thirty grand will be used to purchase gift certificates from the chamber of commerce?

Those will then be given to city employees to reward them for their hard work.

Councilman mike callanan remarked how this is another way neighbors it's really encouraging to see the community members step up to do what they can to support these shuttered businesses.

Some more good news out of tonight's council meeting?

The hanson family foundation will be donating 1?

Thousand dollars to the small business recovery and continuity fund.
