Florida governor unveils plan to ease shutdown

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced on Wednesday (April 29) his plan for easing restrictions on businesses in his state, as data showed the U.S. economy shrank at its sharpest pace since the 2007-2009 Great Recession.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis provided an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in Florida from the state capitol building in Tallahassee on Wednesday (4/29).

After getting emotional about the impact social distancing has had on the state and his own family, he announced that Florida plans to enter Phase 1 of the reopening plan on May 4th.
