Business is actually booming for plant nurseries that Action News Now visited.

Julia - business is actually booming for the nurseries i spoke to.

Looking for a flower for a special one?

How about some vegetables to grow in your own backyard?

(nats: electric cart passing) ken hodge has all that at his nursery in durham.

"we have been busy" (nats: water coming out of hose) "this time is very busy anyway.

But i think we're probably even a little busier now just because people want to go out and do something."

(standup:) if you're here to pick a tree or a plant... you have five acres to roam, so you might not think about staying away from others.

Even so hodge says these signs are to remind people that even here, we should practice social distancing.

When people are ready to check out - they'll find a glass partition between them and the cashier.

"i haven't heard anything but good remarks about us being open" little red hen nursery closed its doors - but services continue.

"we still have our full inventory available we're doing phone orders for curbside pickup at the moment" a lot of nurseries are adapting to the virus but hodge is hopeful that if we all work together we'll come out better on the other side.

"i think we're all going to come all through this with flying colors if we all lower our expectations of others and treat others we want to be treated."
