Columbus catering company opens for curbside pickup

The coronavirus did not stop one Southern Elite Catering from serving the public.

The owner brought catfish and customer service to her own front lawn.

Nats frying sounds if there's anything that southern elite knows... it's catfish.

Nats "oh it's the best" but even the catering company's legendary seafood couldn't stand a chance against the corona virus.

Sot twanda tate, southern elite catering, owner- "it really put us at a halt and the first week we lost like four catering jobs" but tate didn't give up so easily.

After the restricitions on food service relaxed, tate converted her front yard into a curbside eatery.

Using tents and converting an old trailer she used at the beginning of her career.

Sot twanda tate- "you know, i figured it's here why not use it."

A leap of faith gone right as hundreds lined up in their cars.

Some for the first time.

Sot john holliman, county supervisor, district 3- "my brother in law stopped by and said the food was real good so we figured we'd try it out for lunch today.

And others making a second trip after trying the food sot presley upton and brylee smith, customers- "my dad brought home some ribs and they were really good and juicy.

They had a lot of flavor and they were really juicy."

As tate and her employees heat up the grill and savor the satisfaction of a job well done.
