New recruits to the department are bringing numbers to the full staffing level very soon.

As we approach the 18 month mark since the camp fire -- the town of paradise continues to make progress toward long term recovery.

Action news now reporter christina vitale reports some good news for the paradise police department.

Paradise police chief eric reinbold told me the department has successfully recruited hired and trained 4 officers and one sargeant.

Vo as staffing numbers go up the department is working on re- staffing the investigations unit reinbold told me the rebuild and recovery process has been a success so far.

Sot- eric reinbold police chief paradise <we have one police recruit in the academy that's going to gradute juen 5th and 2 police offciers to fill and we have backgrounds in both those positions if we keep on our roll we will be on full staffing level at 17 sworn so we're just moving towards so we can get back ontrack and handle business& im an elk and the police chief me with us andgave us a reporter about whats going on and so i think what the community leader are stepping out and talking to us about it keeps us believing that it can happen vo paradise police in collaboration with the fire department and the fire safe council have updated the evacuation plans.
