Get it ready for the next ceremony.

When the coronavirus hit the country -- traveling mostly came to a halt.

But now, as states reopen, people are slowly starting to plan vacations again.

Waay 31's rodneya ross joins us live in huntsville.

Rodneya -- a local travel agent says he's seeing customers again as we head into summer.

That's right.

We talked to a travel agent in decatur who says he just recently booked a few trips-but that's after months of no business.

Travel agent roger mcwhorter says the height of his booking season is normally january through june -- but because of the coronavirus, most of his bookings were cancelled.

Mcwhorter had to lay off his entire staff and will likely lose about a years worth of income.

He told us he has booked a couple of european trips for the fall -- but a lot of people are still holding out to see how this pandemic plays out.

The big deal right now of course is at what point can people fly out of here, italy just reopened its doors to people in the eu, but not to international travel.

Mcwhorter told us he thinks he'll start getting more business later this summer.

We asked if he would be looking into what hotels resorts or cruises are doing to implement safety policies.

He says he's hopeful things will go back to normal so there won't be a need for extra protocols.
