COVID-19 has undoubtedly taken a toll on small businesses across our community.

WLFI recognizes that which is why we will be featuring small businesses in our community in a series we are calling "Always Together, Always Local".

A toll on small businesses across our community.

Wlfi recognizes that which is why we will be featuring small businesses in our community in a series we are calling "always together, always local".

Today we are featuring arni's..

A business that has been part of the greater lafayette community since 1965.

Arni's restaurants are well known in the greater lafayette community.

"our regular customers are still coming in even our dining in customers have come through the carry out line so they do keep us going."

And those regular customers..

Are what the co-owner of arni's restaurants brad cohen says..

Has kept them a float during this historic time in our country.

"people have been wonderful and they have been kind and they've been patient and awesome with our staff and gratuity seems to be a little larger then normal so they have been wonderful."

When the stay at home order started..

Arni's had to furlough a lot of their workers... but now many on the job.

"pretty much over the last month or so we've really ramped everything back up with the curbside pick ups.

We have brought some of our servers and the front of the house staff back to run that with our door dash now we are doing that as well with some of our servers and front of the house staff."

While support from customers has helped them stay in business..

Cohen says the greater lafayette business community has been supporting each other through the pandemic as well.

"a lot of us are all on the same page we've all communicated with each other to make sure what we are doing is right.

Asking each other are we misinterpreting a rule or a law or a guidance.

So we are all in this together."

And together is something cohen says..

The community has always been.

"we've always had a philosophy to take care of our community and the community in return takes care of us that has worked for all of us in the restaurant industry."

Unlike other dining establishments arni's decided not to open in person dining until june.

They want to make sure it is 100 percent safe for both their employees and their staff.
