FWCS schools celebrating the last day of class with parades

With traditional classroom learning being canceled for the year in Indiana, schools didn't get to have their special last day celebrations.

However, schools around the area are taking to the streets to celebrate their students and families.

Typically as the school year ends, students get to have field days and hug their teachers goodbye..

Some of those goodbyes are until next year, and some are forever as students depart on new adventures.

But with covid-19, this celebrations and goodbyes are different.

Fox 55 caleb saylor spent time at stoody and bloomingdale elementary schools today and is live to tell us about the unique last day of school.

Caleb.as a former school teacher myself, i know just how special the last day of school is, getting to see your students make huge achievements while getting ready for the next part of their journey.

For schools in the area, the last day may look different, but the spirit is the same.

Ell the last day of school is always a special day.

We usually do a lot of fun things and they get awards, and so this is just our way to say farewell to them and we appreciate their hard wor wait to can honking, people cheering?

T feels really special this year because we honestly had no idea what would have happened, how things all turned out, but i think just showing them we lovee here nd that we for them, even though we have been apart, i think, hopefully it means as much to the students as it means to all of us.

School...my favorite things is i like to play with my two ?car horns blair?

Ids move on to another grade, some of them move on to other schools, so i important to let them know that we care about them.

E love what we do, the youth of america.

Our goal is to grow them into great and awesome, and productive citizens and i think if you asked any teacher here, they would tell you they would give up any amount of time and any amount of car decoration or whatever it takes to let them know that we love them and we miss them, and we want to stay honking car horns at families?

Akes me feel happy to see all my teachers happy and just waiving.

I all happy that their just running around in their cars, coming through my little house here.

It makes me happy inside and outside.

It makes me happy.

So as you could see, it was still a special last day of school for students and teachers in fwcs and make sure to make the student and teacher in your life feel special about that day as well.
