That --- local leaders are pushing to re-energize the economy - sooner rather than later.

Governor holcomb -- saying today hoosiers have done so well -- the state is moving up the next phase of re-opening we go now to 44news reporter erran huber.

He is live in evansville tonight with a look at what that means for our friday.

We are nearly back on full track-- and local favorites--like marina point-- are ready for the next gear.

Tonight--another shift forward in indiana's reopening progress.

"we will be able to advance to stage 4.

We will be able to do it earlier than expected.

Now starting friday--two days sooner.

Something the governor and health experts credit with hoosiers keeping pace with state health guidelines.

"i think, for the most part, been very--not only patient, but vigilant.

And that combination has allowed us to weather the storm, and continue to progress from stage one to stage two.

To stage two, to stage three.

Now on to stage 4."

Stage 4 not only expands the number of people who can come eat at restaurants-- but for the first time--bars and nightclubs can open up--and let in 50 percent of their capacity.

So for places like kc's marina point--a new expansion in their operations besides just serving food and drinks to distanced customers.

"not being able to have barstools at the bars, that's been tough.

It's been tough at for the bartenders.

People are used to being able to sit at bar.

Bringing back live entertainment, that's what we're known for."

A tough time being made easier right through the weekend-- and those bars and nightclubs are already gearing up.

"got some guys coming down from nashville.

And we got everyone's favorite local band.

Tailgate revival is going to kick it off for us saturday night."

But for those looking beyond the bar scene.

Stores can return to full capacity shopping.

And places like zoos and movie theaters can return to entertaining the tri-state.

What's not included in the date move-- casinos.

They'll keep their june 15th time-line.

That's when tropicana plans to deal the next hand.
