The entire state now in phase three - meaning many may come off unemployment and head back to work..... but thousands of people are still struggling to make ends meet or get help.... that's due to unemployment benefits lagging across illinois.... even when attempting to find new opportunities - many remain out of luck.... i planned on having two jobs for the summer and now i don have any??and i not getting money back from unemployment either?
Since the pandemic began - more than one million people have applied for unemployment in illinois.... and the state's unemployment office has been difficult to reach.... on top of that - nearly 20- thousand people are facing penalty weeks in their benefits....
