Communities around the region are still cleaning up after last storms with a few people losing more than just shade to keep them cool.fox 55 meteorologist caleb saylor is live in new haven and spoke with one family dealing with the damage from the storms. caleb..clean up conitnues tonight as reminders of the damage done by the storms lay at the feet of residents in new haven.

Unfortunately for one family, the result of the storm means they now need to find a new place to live.

Trees and limbs line the streets in new haven neighborhoods as people clean up from last nights storms. some were able to get themselves sorted, dealing with just some branches in their yard.

Others, will need help getting old, tall trees off their property unfortunately for brittany mark one of those who will need help.

T was really, really, honestly scary.

Having my ten month old son in my arms during this whole thing was just truly very nerve wracking.

Boyfriend and her grabbed their 10 month old, and headed for shelter next door as the first round of storms came through fter it died down, we went back home and was like k, i just a t bad storm.

Done.

Hen it started picking up again about four, four thirty, and you could actually see it sitting in my living room, the tree, it like caved in.

So, you know, my boyfriend grabbed the baby and was like e need to get out of here now, five, ten seconds after we walked through their door, the tree was in my trailer.

Huge tree came crashing through her trailer.

Right in their living room where they were sitting mere seconds before.

After the storms passed, they came back out to assess the damage, the sight was grim.

Still dealing with the shock of losing her home, brittany is trying to keep it together, saying she has to keep goi walk can around with my head down to the ground, i have to keep going.

I have my son that i have to keep working for.

Fortunately, still no reports of injuries from the storms last night.

New haven mayor steve mcmichael said today that clean up could take a week or more, and many new haven residents are still without power tonight.
