RCTC enrollment open for fall semester

RCTC accepts registration until the week before classes start.

The semester begins August 24.

"* area colleges are preparing to welcome students back this fall... and some classes are going to look different this school year because of the pandemic.

Rochester community and technical college's upcoming semester begins in just two months.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is checking in to see how students can prepare.

Rctc is open for enrollment and registration.

As of last week ?

"* all offices that help students are fully staffed and ready to assist in the enrollment process.

This fall ?

"* some classes will be offerd online ?

"* some will be in?

"*person ?

"* and some will hybrid of the two.

This isn't anything new for rctc.

It's how it offered learning even before the pandemic.

However ?*- the way some in?

"* person classes are held will be different.

Classrooms have a 10?

"*20 person limit.

So for example ?

"* the college is exploring possibly holding some classes in non?

"* traditional classrooms ?

"* such as the theater ?

"* field hous*- and gym ?

"* to help students space out.

Having smaller groups of students from the same class meet at different times is another possibility.

The school's communication s director tells me the spring semester laid a lot of the the framework is all there.

We're ready should we have to switch that switch back to all online.

We're not hoping to do that, we don't want to do that, but of course no one really knows the direction of where this pandemic is going to go the campus will have screening stations to make sure no one's sick before they enter ?

"* and masks are highly encouraged.

In some places ?

"* such as the health sciences areas ?

"* masks will be required.

Orientation will be offered in person and online ?*- but the school may be breaking up orientation into smaller groups over a few days.
