Action News Now reporter Jafet Serrato talked with reps from public health to get that answer.

New this morning - is butte county seeing an increase in covid-19 testing?

Action news now reporter jafet serrato is live in chico... he talked with reps from public health to get that answer.... jafet what do we know?

I'm here at the butte county public health department office.

Public health reps tell me in recent days more people have been signing up to get tested for the coronavirus to date- more than 10-thousand 400 people in butte county have tested for the virus.

Lisa almageur with butte county public health says the state testing site at the silver dollar fairgrounds is currently operating at 100 percent capacity.

She says a few weeks ago it had 80 percent capacity.

I asked some in chico why they are choosing to test now - during the spikes in coronavirus.

"me personally i work at a physical therapy office.

So just being around patients.

Coworkers with families.

Its important to get tested and find out for yourself whats going on."

"i'm from glenn county so their spikes are up high so i just want to be safe than sorry" the woman you just heard from tested at immediate care in chico.

She says she got the test...because her live in daughter works at an office where someone recently tested positive for the virus.
