Restaurants all over the county have had to close their doors due to safety concerns surrounding corona virus.

Not being able to welcome people in forced many to adapt just to keep the lights on áandá keep their staffs employed.

Our savannah gaido talks with some area restaurant owners about the lessons they've learned.

For months -- diners weren't able to head in to their favorite restaurants to enjoy a meal, so restaurant owners have had to get creative.

Table service has given way to curbside service.

"curbside is helping us because if we didn't have curbside we probably really wouldn't have anybody coming in and it helps that we can actually bring food to our customers or bring stuff.

We also do casseroles and stuff and we can bring that stuff out to their car and they don't have to come in so that way everybody can stay safe and try to stay protected as best as they can."

Jeff pyle of cafe on main, says it's been benefiting his crew and his customers..

"i mean it has definitely helped us out.

I mean it is probably about half of our orders are to-gos or curbside, so it has definitely helped us out."

And they've streamlined the process.

"so the customer will just pull in right in front of the restaurant, and we have a sign out dedicated for the curbside."

"basically you just call the restaurant when you arrive, and then we will bring it out to the car."

This is a time now where the best way to help is to support local.

"you know just kind of bear with us during this time, you know now is more important than ever to support your local businesses.

Not just restaurants but the whole array of businesses are really struggling right now."

"as much as you can do curbside in any type of business the better because everybody really needs the support right now."

Local restaurants recommend that if you do dine in, please follow all of the guidelines and sanitation rules.
