Holland patent announces hybrid reopening plan

Holland Patent Central School district is one of many leaning toward a hybrid learning system this fall.

Come september, students at holland patent schools are going to return to a new normal.

Today the district announcing a hybrid model of reopening.

Meaning students will be partly working in school and remotely .

None "i think allowing as much inperson instruction as we can for our children while also following the safety guidelines made that a model that we thought we could confidently execute."

Getting students to school will be another challenge.

The district says school buses will be limited to one child per seat unless the person sitting with them lives in the same home.

Once they get there, everyone coming into the building including students will be required to complete screening questions either in person or electronically before coming to school.

"we are following the safety guidelines from the department of health from the new york state education department to make sure that we have a plan in place to meet students needs."

While inside the school, students will wear masks, unless on a break.... and desks will be socially distanced.

Capacity inside each room will differ based on the building.

The district is also working out when students will be in class and working remotely.

"i'm concerned because i have a child that is in elementary school and that is in middle school.

I was concerned if they were going to be going to school on the same days because i work full time."
