This comes from concerns due to covid-19.

Following guidelnes from the centers for disease control....i-s-u canceled some important events.

Normally during homecoming tent city would be filling the stadium behind me.

People would be lined up on the street enjoying the i-s-u parade as well.

Due to covid-19 things will look a little different this year.

Members of i-s-u's board of trustees said in their meeting today that homecoming activities will be canceled this year.

The tent city event and blue and white parade are some of the events that have been canceled.

They canceled activities due to concerns surrounding covid-19.

They are following the guidelines set in place by the center of disease control which says to limit the amount of mass gatherings.

The alumni board..and mayor of terre haute, duke bennett.....are all in support of the change.

President curtis says the decision was not easy but... she is glad every group is supportive.

"i'm here to share at this time that one hundred percent of the feedback from each of these groups agreed with the recommendation of the homecoming committee."

Although the homecoming events are still canceled this stadium will not be empty.

The homecoming football game is still scheduled as planned against missouri state.
