A lexington company says, it's newest invention is about to become a game changer... in fighting covid-19 across the country.

Big ass fans says, its new fan will help clean the air.

To explain ....abc 36's monica harkins joins us live from home.

Monica, it was a little bit of a right place, right time scenario?

### yes, big ass fans tells me it took two products it already makes.... a fan with the light at the top and a u-v light system.... when you put them together you get a fan the company says can circulate and clean the air...killing bacteria.

It's called... haiku with u-v-c....the part that kills germs is the u-v-c part...so the air is filtering past an ultra violet light technology.

Big ass fans says during the past four months it's been working on ways to help problem solve during this pandemic...and it rolled out the invention in the middle of july.

It says it's hoping to help not only kentucky businesses, but also classrooms to help lower the spread of germs when people are inside.
