Travis Waleri has been cited for driving offenses.

Would not change.

New tonight at 11-- the driver who hit a black activist during a childrens march was cited for his*driving after a grand jury decided not to press criminal charges.

Kezi nine news reporter connor mccarthy joins us live in the studio and connor what was he exactly cited with?

Emma-- we got confirmation from eugene police that 34-year-old travis waleri was cited for careless driving... failure to stop and remain stoppped for pedestrian.... and driving the wrong way in a traffic circle.

I did speak to isiah wagoner... the acitvist who was hit by waleri... and he says this citation is not nearly enough.

Now this comes nearly a week after a grand jury cleared waleri of any charges.

According to court documents waleri had seven possible crimes he could have been charged with.

Inclduing attempted murder in the second degree.... assualt in the second... third... and fourth degreee... and recklessly endarngering another person.

Wagoner says even with this citation... its just another example of the justice system failing for people of color.

The only thing that it proves is that undoubtedly a crime was committed no one should be hit with citations if a crime wasn't committed and no one is going home and calling the police on themselves unless a crime was committed which travis waleri did both.

I did ask wagoneri if he was going to pursue a civil case against waleri but he says he cannot comment on that at this time.

Emma-- wagoner still believes with all of the witness testimony that waleri should have been charged with at least one crime.

He says he will continue fight for people of color so they can have a fair shot in the justice system.
