Exactly 12 weeks until election day, Joe Biden selected Kamala Harris as his running mate.

Chico resident and Democratic Superdelegate Bob Mulholland, along with other Chico residents react to the Harris getting the nod.

With exactly 12 weeks until election day, how will american voters view biden's pick for running mate?

We asked action news now reporter esteban reynoso to get some initial reaction for us.

Esteban what did you find out?

Walking around the city today i spoke with a lot of people using my cell phone -- and the response from the people in the city -- it was mixed.

"there's going to be woman that are gonna say hey, i'm gonna vote for this ticket, it's history" democratic super delegate bob mulholland was an early supporter of kamala harris, and switched to joe biden after harris' loss.

Soon mulholland will cast his vote as superdelegate towards the democratic party.

"i was thrilled not only because i know kamala harris and know she'd be a great vice president, but i also thought, a dozen qualified women, and of all the vetting, checking their background.

Their scholastic work, their political work, she ends up to be joe biden's choice."

And some voters agree that harris was the right choice.

"i think it's a pretty smart pick for him.

Absolutely i think she gives him some credit."

"i'm happy he chose a person of color, to represent and she's a respresentative of california so i do appreciate that."

And that it strengthened their vote for joe biden "first things first that filter of seeing a woman of color in office, it's unbelievable.

I think it would bring me closer to biden."

But some voters think it's a choice biden had to make.

"i mean it doesn't make me want to vote for him more."

"i still think trump is going to win."

And for some voters, this decision doesnt change who they'll be punching in come november.

"did it swing your vote even further towards trump or -- oh yeah, definently, i mean i'm republican anyways."

I gathered a mixed reaction when interviewing people throughout the city.

A majority of the people i spoke with did not know harris was selected today, and the other majority were unaware of who she is.
