4 REPORTER ROB MANCH ANDREPUBLICAN CONGRESSIONALCANDIDATE DAN SEVERSON.Rob: The theme of our interviewseries is "What’s in your Cup?"And I just wanted to ask youbriefly what your favoritebeverage is, and maybe what doyou like to drink in the morningwhen you wake up?Dan Severson: I’m a coffee guyin the morning, and I only takeabout half a cup, but it’s kindof that taste that gets mewaking up this morning.

Got myNavy cup with me this morning.Rob: So it sounds like, in a fewways, you’d like to shiftpriorities from where FrancisRooney was taking the district’spriorities, and aligning himselfin Congress, and it sounds likeyou have different ideas of whatyou’d like to achieve with yourrole in Congress, and maybe talkabout those priorities if youare elected our nextcongressman.Dan Severson: Well I think oneof the things he did have theright priority on was cleaningup our waterways, and that’s oneof the pluses that his term, twoterms in office have given tothis district.

I believefirmly that life begins atconception.

I believe in limitedgovernment and nationalsecurity, and because of mymilitary background, I have areal passion and a desire tohave an impact at the nationalsecurity level now with thiswhole advent of China, and theunveiling of its real agenda. It’s become, to me, kind of afront-burner issue.

It’s one ofthose things we need to dealwith now, and it is a, it is oneof those things that I believewe have to focus on, and that wehave to kind of plug the dam asit were immediately.
