Have late breaking details-- three warrick county students-- are the latest confirmed cases among school aged kids in the tri- state-- but - schools in warrick county- not alone-- the district joins the growing list of communities falling behind in the fight against the virus-- 44news reporter megan diventi explains.

Class is back in session--- "we've completely changed how they understand school."

But heading back to school could mean a trip to the doctor-- "so we have 3 postive cases."

For the north gibson school corporation-- they started classes august 7th... but just earlier this week 3 students tested positive for covid-19... "we immediately notified the county health department as well as contact tracing of who would be a close contact of those individuals."

But they are not alone... the metropolitan school district of north posey began classes only 10 days ago... on thursday morning--they announced a student at north elementary tested positive for covid-19... the school continuing to take all necessary steps in ensuring student safety--- metropolitan school district of north posey associate super.

"we have cleaning stations at each of the classrooms as i said we have also done mistings in each of the classrooms as well."

Both school district officials say they are maximizing social distancing and enhancing their cleaning protocols to avoid more potential cases... "schools are designed as social entities and we have always encouraged those interaction well now we've changed all that--we've changed it at recess time, we've changed it at lunch time, we've changed it at passing periods in the hallway."
