The troop built two small house shaped cabinets.

One is at klondike elementary and the other is at edgelea elementary.

It works as a free public-access pantry for packaged and canned foods.

People are encouraged to take the food they need.

Those who can donate are encouraged to help keep the pantry stocked.

Both pantries have been up for less than a month.

Troop members are happy its being used.

A: i'm super happy that people are actually using it and that our troop helped the community.

M: i also like that people also have been putting food into the pantry and helping the community too.

A: it gives all the girl scouts a good feeling inside.

This project helped the girls get their bronze award.

They were able to build the pantries with money raised from last year's girl-scout cookie sales.
