Surveying crews have also walked the fire perimeter and now have a more accurate estimate of the fires size.

They now believe it's 382 acres, down from yesterday which was estimated around 513.

All this of course comes as 44-year-old mapleton man is set to appear in court on a first degree arson charge related to the fire.

The sheriffs office said they arrested elias pendergrass yesterday after tips from the community.

Many here have told us they believe it was arson.

Pendergrass is set to appear in court this afternoon.

Meanwhile fire officials say they're concerned about hot and windy weather which could make matters on the fire worse.
