Updated village election results

Results are in for village elections that took place Sept.

15, after being postponed due to the pandemic.

Were several contested races in oneida and herkimer counties decided on tuesday in elections that were supposed to happen earlier this year, but delayed due to covid.

We begin with the race for cooperstown village trustee.

Incumbent e membrino n one ofhe two op seats with 2votes, g after that.

Incumbent maguire benton and challenger mary margaret robbins tied for the second seat with 872 votes.

The clerk's office says the county board of elections will perform a recount, and if the votes are still tied...a judge will decide what happens next - either a runoff election or drawing lots...for exampe a coing flip.

There is no timetable at this point for the recount.

In the village of mohawk we have new results this noon in the mayoral race.

Republican james baron wins with 251 votes.

Lori simentelli, from the friends and community party line, had 88 votes.

For dolgeville trustee amanda jaquay saw 197 votes joshua galletta .....183 9 votes the top two would serve four- year terms here in oneida county.

In clinton... results are unofficial for trustee.... thomas firsching saw 53 votes carrie evans - 43 richard heintz, the second - 22 votes the top two would serve two- year terms and unoffical results for mayor in new york mil.

Ernie talico ... th 332 vos.

John bialek saw 242 votes this seat is a four- year term.

And for new york mills trustee mike copperwheat has 318 votes brenda mitchell .... 289 john edwards .... 287 ken mccoy ..... 238 the top two would serve four- year terms for whitesboro village trustee patrick o'connor is leading with 177 votes.

Raymond daviau, junior .... 155 jacob morgan .... 90 votes the top two would serve four- year terms proposition 1 for whitesboro is a proposed 10- percent property tax exemption for volunteer firefighters the proposition earned 150 ''yes'' votes.

47 people voted ''no''.
