Now that more people are being allowed back in their homes in douglas county... some businesses along highway 138 are starting to open back up.

Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza shows us how one business is trying to move forward.

Trt: 1:11 00:00 evita:?it only been two days since the idleyld trading post on highway 138 reopened after being abruptly evacuated due to the archie creek fire... and staff say theye been counting their blessing ever since?

Owner eric sohn tells me the last two weeks were filled with stress and uncertainty.

As the archie creek rapidly grew, he didn't know what to expect.

00:22 eric sohn:?we didn know for a few days whether the store was going to make it.

We saw some pictures of it and thought it wouldn?

But& as soon as the level three evacuation notice was lifted in idleyld park last week, sohn says they got right to work& to clean up the store and assess the damage.?the power went out for quite sometime and wee not sure for how long.

So to be safe, we had to soil out quite a bit of stock, especially all of the deli?

Customers tell me it a miracle the trading post is still standing..

And they're grateful they're back in business.

00:53 bailey mermen:?

We would've been sad.

We woulde wondered about the people who work here."

Evita:?even though the trading post has reopened, sole says theye already preparing for business to slow down.
