Library book giveaway in Utica

The Utica Public Library has set out shelves of books for free in the library parking lot.

Public library's parking lot is now also the site of a book giveaway!

The library is trying to get rid of some bookty anyone in the past five to ten years or even more.

So the library is putting them out for anyone to check out....as log as the weather is nice...and as long as you are socially distancing.

We are going to be converting our entire collection to a new id system of tracking them in a couple of months or so so what weve been doing this summer his weeding, which is getting rid of a ton of our collection, just books that i havent circulated since five years ago, 10 years ago, etc.& tc : 48:49 "id love to see every book that we have find a home one way or another and if we cant find a home for a lot of these books they have to be recycled or have to be thrown out, all the books dont move like they used to."

Mcnicholl says...on thursdays, although weather permitting...he puts out some of the brand new books and d-v-d's the library has recently got in....but those are for (((sign out only(( forthose who have a valid libarry card.

These outdoor activities are being done since the library is closed due to covid...but you reserve books online...and someone will bring them out to you.
