You're taking a live look over madison county this morning where the state health department says it will be receiving shipments of rapid coronavirus tests in the next few months!

Sierra, how many tests will alabama get and how they will be used?

This morning we know our state is set to receive 1 million tests that give results in about 15 minutes.

Governor ivey's office said the inital shipment will be just under 100-thousand tests.

It all part of the trump administration's plan to get these tests to states so they can reopen their economies and schools.

We reached out to school districts across north alabama and everyone we heard back from said they don't have any information about if or when they'll recieve the coronavirus rapid tests.

At noon today, madison county and huntsville city leaders will provide a coronavirus update where we could learn more information about these tests.
