Half Pot Winner Announced

Ten--- the fall fest half pot -- tops one-point-3 million dollars--- surpassing last years total.... good evening-- thanks for joining us tonight at nine-- i'm megan diventi... and tonight--the moment many have been waiting for--- the west side nut club drawing that winning ticket.... 44news reporter jake thomas joins us from evansville with that story.

Our winning number is 1706883 and that winner taking home more than $695,000 but when the fall festival was cancelled earlier in the year, the west side nut club wasn sure if they be able to raise much money for this years half pot drawing.?well, to be honest with you, we didn have our captive audience like we do at the fall festival.

We had no idea what we were going to do because of that factor?

But after topping more than 1.3 million dollars, the west side nut club saw how much evansville citizens care for their community.?never, never as a committee ever thought we get this high.

What we did find out is that the community itself came out in droves.

One to participate to hopefully win this half pot, but also understand that if they didn, there money is going to good cause?

The other $695,000 going towards charity organizations, local non- profits, and area high schools and with the festival being cancelled and booths not able to set up, evansville residents stepped up lining franklin street for the past week with hundreds of people trying to buy a ticket?well, we bought a half pot ticket because the west side nut club is amazing.

They do a lot of stuff in the community, and we want to get rich.

I glad the community still had the half pot, cause it still supported the community and the local businesses?

And even though the half pot drawing just concluded on saturday night, the west side nut club is already looking forward to raising even more money in 2021?our goal is next year is hopefully to have a fall festival.

Our goal is to have the booths back on franklin street, and just see where we go.

We can never guarantee anything we can do, but our goal is each year make it better?
