The DA said more evidence is needed in the case, and the woman will be released from jail.

Local, late breaking, this is kezi 9 news... breaking news.

We start with breaking news tonight about that former junction city caregiver who was arrested on over 100 counts of elder abuse and theft.

Tonight --- the lane county district attorney says she won't file charges at this time.

As kezi 9 news reporter emma jerome reports... prosecutors say the case against noelle jendraszek needs more investigation.

Chynna -- i spoke with police and prosecutors after this announcement.

In fact... i just got off the phone with prosecutor chris parosa.

And he tells me... the evidence just wasn't there.

This is video of jendraszek being taken from junction city to the lane county jail last night.

Her arrest followed an investigation that began early last month when someone reported their father had money stolen from him at the junction city retirement and assisted living facility.

Junction city police allege that jendraszek confessed to her crimes.

But even if that's true... parosa says an admission of guilt is not enough to charge a person with a crime.

Phoner no lower: "it's incumbent upon law enforcement to go out and be able to corroborate the details of any confession that's been provided.

We simply cannot charge a person for a crime even though they might have confessed to it but junction city police chief bob morris says they have the evidewnce they need and more: phoner no lower"we have an extensive amount of documentation.

Not only do we have her admissions and her willingness to cooperate and signed affadavit's from her that describe in detail the activities that she's been onvolved with" morris says, however that this investigation is not over yet and they are still looking into the conduct which happened inside the junction city care facility... reporting live in the stuio
