Evansville's Salvation Army has kicked off its annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign with a goal set to raise $275,000.

Reporting live in evansville marisa patwa 44news right now-- the salvation army of evansville is hosting a kick- off event with mayor lloyd winneck declaring today as salvation army red kettle day.

The salvation army is kicking off their annual holiday fundraiser.... the red kettle campaign is starting a week earlier than normal this year- to help make up for the increased need -- in our community.

Their goal --- is to raise 275- thousand dollars.

Right now they are looking for volunteers -- to help ring the bells and greet shoppers around the community...
