How to Treat Cystic Acne When You Can't Get To The Dermatologist

Cystic acne is considered to be the most severe type of acne.

Not only are cystic lesions unsightly, but they're also painful and not easily gotten rid of.

According to Allure Magazine, cystic pimples don't contain a core of dead skin or pus.

That means if you try to squeeze one, it won't work.

Instead, you get trauma and more inflammation, leading to scarring and skin discoloration.

If you can't run to a dermatologist for a quick cortisone injection, start by putting ice on the cystic lesion for a few seconds, then moisturize.

Then, apply both salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide ointments.

The former should be at around 1.5 to 2 percent.

The latter should be at around 2.5 percent.

Finally, top it off with some oil-free moisturizer, and mask redness with a green color-correcting concealer.

Good luck!
