We start with the news of oregon reporting a record number of covid-19 cases.

Today the oregon health authority reported one thousand six hundred sixty nine new cases.

That brings the state total -- to more than 72 thousand.

The o-h-a also reported 11 new deaths.

And its important to note here -- officials say today's case count is*higher -- because of a delay in reporting from*thanksgiving.

It was expectedly lower yesterday -- for that same reason.

Now all of this comes as hospitalizations for covid-19 --*rise.

The number of hospitalized covid-19 patients across oregon --*increased to 529.

That's eight more than yesterday.

There are one hundred six covid-19 patients in the i-c-u.

That's nine fewer than yesterday.

Closer to home now -- all five counties in our viewing area reported new cases today.

Benton county reported 17 new ones.

Coos county reported three.

Douglas saw 8 new cases and 14 people are in the hospital there.

Lane county reported 49 new ones.
