Today - huntsville city schools said it's making progress on resolving the cyber security attack issue.

It's still unclear if any information was compromised in that attack.

Administration and staff including principals returned to the schools for the first time since the attack today.

Because this is an active investigation - all the district could say is that it is moving forward in finding a solution to the problem.

District officials say today was really about getting staff - teachers - and students ready to go back to class as quickly as possible.

Today - principals and school administrators met to go over the plan for the next couple of days and weeks.

Teachers will head back to schools thursday- to work on how they will teach students - while minimizing the use of technology.

One mom who has a 7th grader in the school system says she realizes this was not going to be a quick process.

"i have a lot of faith in the school system and i know that they're doing everything they can.

Ransomware is not simple.

It's not just a really small virus.

Officials say they realize parents want to know if any of their personal information has been compromised.

As of today - there is not an update - but district officials say they will let parents know as soon possible.
