Brian & Kirsten work their magic at a local breakfast hub

Good day are job swapping... pulling double duty to try out a variety of jobs in the community.

((brian loftus)) >> kirsten and i took on an "egg-citing" new challenge... take a look.

((kirsten joyce)) so many of you in the las vegas valley join us each and every morning, on the dark and early shift....in all kinds of jobs ((brian loftus)) as a part of our "job swap" series, kirsten and i took on a different gig with the breakfast crew at "the egg and i" ......we promise....we didn't make the food ((brian loftus)) as our shift started, kirsten's generosity, already on full display brian: "before you run that, kirsten would like to pay for that..for all of these gentleman...the whole row....is that possible?

Kir, i didn't check with you first.... kirsten: "very funny!"

((kirsten joyce)) time-clock punched, our shift begins.... brian: "hi, welcome to the egg & i."

Kirsten: "you ready to chow down, the food here is....amazing!"

Kirsten let's get sanitized!"

Brian: "here's is your iced coffee makings she made it herself."

((kirsten joyce)) we were ready to take our first food order, but instead fielded a very vegas-influenced question customer: "what's the lock today in baseball?"

Brian: "the lock in baseball today!

See, this is what people think...if you live in las vegas....you have insider betting tips."

((brian loftus)) back to the breakfast menu....and kirsten's daily special kirsten: "avocado, cheese and omelet number with sourdough side potatoes."

Brian: "that was her warm-up, her main entree was flap-jacks.

I recommend all of it - you guys can't go wrong..... ((kirsten joyce)) plenty of locals at the egg and i, and folks from..

Where else, but brian's hometown..... brian: "chicagoans eat free...."

((brian loftus)) order's up!

Kady: eggstuffed french toast brian: "and what table number?"

Kady: "table 7" brian: "lead the way."

((kirsten joyce)) locals willie and patty have dined here every other week for seven years patty bell, willie villanueva locals brian: "how are we doing?"

Patty bell: "so far, so good."

Willie villanueva: "greeting everyone, saying hello to everyone."

Brian: "willie, we didn't cook the food..."

Kirsten: "the food is coming out soon, it'll be fantastic, and brian personally washed the dishes."

((brian loftus)) notice how kir mentioned that i alone....washed the dishes brian: "we have these dishes, some silverware, we've got a committment to make - we're washing all these dishes!

Kirsten: "i tell you how this is going to start - you're going to be in here for awhile....i'm going to go back out front, and greet people."

Brian: "ummmm, i don't feel like that was the agreement.....kir??"

....it's possible...."

"are the clean, alrighty... "corner, corner!

How are you doing?

Great!

"alrighty...washing dishes..."

"i need one of these at home, this is great!"

((kirsten joyce)) while brian was scrubbing pots and pans, i tackled the front of the house adrienne mcully/hostess kirsten: "adrienne you are the wonderful "hostess with the mostest" here, what's the trick when the lines go out the door?

Adreienne: "keep everybody calm."

((kirsten joyce)) now i'll admit i've done the hostess thing before.... 20 years ago.

Did everybody bring their appetite?

Today we are doing a special, all you can eat... i'm just kidding... we already know the portions are huge here.

" party of 2 just say paula got that big party went to sit down, perry, just sat him, mariah would be next...... brian "you've essentially become a manager" : brian you are going to go to maria's section... enjoy your meal ladies... ((brian loftus)) yes... i think kirsten was enjoying it.... maybe a little too much.... she's been employee of the month 4 times, moving in on her area, i wasn't going to say anything... i can't beat adrianne's smile though..

Oh thanks.... i can't ((kirsten joyce)) smile's abound here at the egg n i......because there's always this promise..

Kirsten: "perry, can you please turn around for me....eggs - actly what you want!"

Brian: "how was the food?

Brian: "two thumbs up, that's a good meal, two thumbs up and two legs up!"

((brian loftus)) all in all - we think we did ok..

((kirsten joyce)) but the true answer from someone who dines here, five days a week... kevin berube/local brian: "kevin, there are two new employees, how are we doing?"

Kevin: "as far as the news, you do great!"

Brian: this is our first day of work....what is the chance of us having employment past day one?"

Kady "ugh....it's possible...."
