Sandra Oh Speaks out Against Anti-Asian Hate in Impassioned Speech.

On Saturday, Sandra Oh made a surprise appearance at a Stop Asian Hate rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She is currently in the city filming her new Netflix series, ’The Chair.’.

In a brief but impassioned speech, Oh encouraged the crowd to “reach out to [their] community.” .

For many of us in our community, this is the first time we are even able to voice our fear and our anger … And one way to go through our fear is to reach out to our community, Sandra Oh, via Huffpost.

Oh then “challeng[ed]” everyone to stand together and offer “help” when necessary.

.

If you see something, will you help me?

If you see one of our sisters and brothers in need, will you help us?

… We must understand, as Asian Americans, we just need to reach out our hand to our sisters and brothers and say, ‘Help me and I’m here.’, Sandra Oh, via Huffpost.

She concluded her speech by proclaiming she was “proud to be Asian” and encouraged the crowd to do the same.

.

I am proud to be Asian!

I belong here!

… Many of us don’t get that chance to be able to say that, so I just wanted to give us an opportunity to be able to shout that, Sandra Oh, via Huffpost
