UAH splits doubleheader with North Georgia

The Chargers won the first game but were held hitless in the second.

A top 15 matchup is always sure to bring excitement -- even more so when its a double header.

Well thats exactly what we had on the diamond at charger park this afternoon with the 13th ranked chargers hosting number three north georgia..

Layton murphy started things with a strong performance on the mound recording three strike outs -- she also made some great defensive plays look easy as she kept the nighthawks off the board in the early innings... akles would get the scoring started with a long ball -- just like that uah leads one nothing and a lucky fan gets a souvenir.

But that lead wouldn't hold for long -- kaylyn anthony would sit on this one dropping it in shallow right to bring two home..and give north georiga the lead.

Later tied at three in the sixth -- lila young knocks one up the middle to bring home akles and mutt and puts the chargers back in front 5-3 ...that would be your final in this one as they hang on in game one..

Little bit of a different story in the second game -- with akles on the mound for the chargers -- the first batter she faces drills one over the right field fence and gives the nighthawks and early lead.

The next inning its hammontree going deep again, this time to straight away center and its a two run shot..north georgia leads 4 zip but they're not done yet.

Margret simmons would crash this one over the left field fence and the nighthawks lead is up to six in the second inning.

Pitcher tybee denton would no-hit the chargers in this one as north georgia takes game two 10 to zero in five innings..
