Firefighters are staging at the Sierra-At-Tahoe Ski Resort, setting down lines and trying to protect structures there.
There are heavy flames and smoke creeping toward the area all day long.
Cal Fire says crews have protected structures in and around the community of strawberry.
They spent hours yesterday laying down lines and creating space.
