PICKUP VS 18 WHEELER, CAMDEN TEXAS, 02/13/23...

Pickup vs 18 Wheeler, CAMDEN, February 13, 2023 - At approximately 12:30 pm on February 13, 2023, an 18 wheeler hauling a load of plywood, driven by Christopher Lilley, 52, of Nacogdoches, was east-bound on FM-62 (about a quarter mile east of the Camden mill).

A west-bound gray 1999 Chevy 1500 pickup, driven by Clayton Flanigan, 18, of Colmesneil entered a curve too fast and crossed the center line.

The Chevy impacted trailer portion of the 18 wheeler.

The impact caused the Chevy to spin around and come to rest in the weeds facing whest.

The 18 wheeler lost most of its load of plywood on the pavement.

Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Corrigan Volunteer Fire Department and Troopers Kevin Burman, Nick Hatton, and Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol.

Volunteer Firemen used the Jaws-of-Life to cut the door off of Flanigan's pickup and carefully remove him.

Flanigan and his passenger were both transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

All traffic on FM-62 was blocked during investigation and cleanup.

At time of press (3 pm), the mess is still being cleaned up.

Flanigan was cited for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.

Riley Wrecker Service out of Corrigan was summoned to clean up the mess and tow both vehicles.
