Dr. Amerling is a native New Yorker.
He graduated Stuyvesant High School, City College of New York, then earned his medical degree at the Catholic University of Louvain in Brussels, Belgium in 1981.
He completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital, Queens in 1986.
