A massive multi-nation  search to find a submersible heading to see the wreckage of the Titanic has been underway since Sunday.

The intense search operation led includes the US Coast Guard, US Navy, the Canadian Coast Guard, and the Canadian military's air & marine search and rescue team.

The tourist vessel, named Titan, is operated by a company called OceansGate.

Insider notes that OceansGate estimates the largest piece of wreck is 2 ½ miles underwater — or 12,800 feet — and about 400 miles off the coast of Newfoundland in the North Atlantic Ocean.
