What is Sepsis?

Sepsis is a global health crisis.

There are around 50 million cases per year and 1 in 5 deaths are associated with sepsis.

Sepsis is caused by an infection that has spread inside the body.

It causes severe illness.

Infections that lead to sepsis most often begin in the lung, skin, urinary tract, or gastrointestinal tract.

If sepsis is left untreated, it can cause organ failure, tissue damage, and even death.
