The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced 19 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, including 10 in Hennepin County. Just hours later, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey announced a public health emergency which will severely limit the city's restaurants and bars starting at noon on Tuesday. The state has tested around 1,893 people for the novel coronavirus and has found 54 cases.
