OTC Markets Group Inc (OTCQX:OTCM) has added what’s known as “Hot Sector” industry information to its small cap listed compliance data offering, which is designed to provide broker-dealers and risk management teams with the data they need to evaluate sub-$500 million securities. The compliance offering, which contains information such as a company’s microcap status, stock split history and shell status, now includes additional data points to specifically equip investors to identify securities in dynamic sectors like cannabis and cryptocurrency/blockchain. "It is essential for firms to establish a consistent framework to analyze small cap securities across the listed and OTC equity market," Market Data and Strategy EVP Matthew Fuchs said in a statement. "The availability of listed cannabis and cryptocurrency/blockchain securities data will provide risk management teams greater ability to track movement between the OTC and listed marketplace and make informed decisions relating to these sectors."
