Texas governor ‘opened too much business, too fast,’ Travis Co. judge says

Greg Abbott's announcement April 27 that some businesses can reopen May 1, Travis County Judge Sarah Eckhardt told KXAN News that the state's timeline — which supersedes local regulations — is "too fast." Eckhardt said now is the time to consider phased, measurable ways to reopen, but "one thing that's missing in the governor's order" is clarity on how to measure whether the new rules are an economic and health benefit.
